One for the ladies...

I had a big operation nearly 2 months ago, and I haven't had a period since.

I just wondered if any ladeeys out there who have had some kind of surgery esp. in the pelvic region had experienced this and how long did it take for them to return to normal.

FYI. I am not on any meds, or contraception.

I suppose a lot depends on what op you had done as to why your periods haven't returned to normal yet.

A couple of years ago I had a laporascopic sterilization and my period came bang on time after.

I've never had surgery of the magnitude of yours but your menstrual cycle is very sensitive to trauma and stress so its not hugely surprising to me that you've missed one period, and even if you missed a couple, I wouldn't worry unless you think there is any chance at all you might have conceived before you had the surgery (I imagine you may have been much too sore and uncomfortable to have done so since!) I also suffer from u/c and when my symptoms have been bad, it hasn't been unusual for it to knock my cycle off kilter (in fact I went for nearly a year without a period at its worst, but that may well have been due to the fact that I weighed diddly squat thanks to the effects of the u/c!)

Hope your recovery continues well, and if you are concerned about the period thing, why not ask your GP next time you see them?
