Hi please move this thread as appropriate, tried to find the best place to post and this seems the best fit.
OH and I earn a reasonable amount of money between us - and are quite prepared to finance our kids through college / uni.
That is until I find out what others are doing.
Split up parents! Only the resident parents income is taken into account, despite HUGE paternal earnings. Adding up to at least as much as we get between us.
Our children get no grants, no EMA. smallest loans and have to pay their own fees.
Other kids (same parental earnings, same outgoings) get all of these things paid for them.
And we have to pay for a second residence (for my work, a small flat in a run down area of a poor and distant city).
is this right and proper.
Should we split up?
Advice gratefully received.
