Ooh-er missus!

I ordered some of my usual TePe brushes from a dental company online and I noticed this in their brochure http://www.molarltd.co.uk/plaqueoff/proden_plaqueoff2.htm

Have you heard of it and in your professional opinion, is it a load of pap? Just interested, I checked a few research tools like web of science, Pubmed that I use for work and couldn't find anything definate.

Any opinions appreciated ;)

Thought my luck was in then! :D

Seems a load of tosh to me.

The alcohol based artificial sugars such as Sorbitol or Xylitol have a pretty good plaque inhibitory effect, and they can be found in sugar free chewing gum.

Also, a good flouride toothpaste along with decent brushing, and maybe a flouride mouthwash such as Colgate Fluoriguard used regularly would also have a greater effect than brushing alone.

I'm always very suspicious of things that claim to remove plaque. The only real way to do that is with brushing/flossing.

I figured as much ;)
If something seems to good to be true then it usually is. Mind you I found a particularly good article in Glycobiology which does show that the seaweed is anti-inflammatory, anti-coagulant, anti-angiogenic and anti-adhesive....if it could just fix my car and raise my vitamin D status to optimum then maybe I would consider buying it :rotfl:
