My daughter is currently traveling on a train with a ticket to Reading, she has just learned it continues to Basingstoke, which is her aimed destination. She had thought she would have to change trains. She now wishes to remain on the train but would not have a ticket for the Reading/Basingstoke section. If a ticket collector comes by, she will extend the ticket, but if not, is unsure what to do? any help please?
just found out the difference in fare is £5.30 plus a £20 penalty
Should have looked for & talked to the conductor before Reading. Or got off at Reading and bought ongoing ticket (which is what she had planned to do all along) slightly annoying, but in todays crap world that's what she should have done. Why didn't she buy a through ticket in the first place?

I know, I know, I know!. On the outward journed, she left from Reading after having had a lift there. She was going to be picked up from Reading on her return, but noticed the announcement re Basingstoke. The good news is that the conductor came round and she was able to extend her journey ticket, thanks.
