Chiltern Railways are doing cheap walk on fares from london to birmingham or the other way for £15 you can also get a railcard discount on them as well. If you go to their website they are also offering what they call an E-Day ticket for as little as £5..Might be worth a look

The £15 tickets are also valid to/from any station in the West Midlands - the only requirement is to travel off-peak and to travel Chiltern on the Banbury - London stretch
