HSA Dental Plan has Changed Its Terms

Apologies if this has been mentioned before but I couldn't find any threads relating to it.

I took out a Dental Plan with HSA last year, and for me, the major benefit was that they accepted you if you had a pre-existing condition and needed treatment for it.

I've just received a letter from them saying that this has now changed - they will now NOT accept any claims relating to pre-existing conditions. As all my treatment relates to serious gum disease which I've had for some time now, I'm going to ring to enquire whether it's worth keeping on with them, but I suspect I will be cancelling.

Oh that is just great I've paid about four premiums of the £17 per month with HSA so that I could go to the dentist and all the work done I know I need and that was the beauty of this package but I was going to go next month!!

I suspect I will be cancelling too if this is correct. Thanks for letting us know.

They've changed other t&c's too. Haven't got it in front of me, but it was something about only claiming for 1 crown in a year, to a max of £500.

I've just cancelled, and gone with Tesco dental health plan, which is much better. Just hope they don't change the t&c's after a year once they've got people hooked in!:mad:

You can sign up for the Tesco plan online, or there are leaflets instore.

I've just spoken to HSA and the T&Cs have only changed for those who join on or after the 1st October. Those who joined before then will kep the old conditions UNTIL their annual renewal.

So I joined in July and my terms will not change to the new ones until next July. So I will keep the policy until next July and then cancel.
