Have a problem Water from the windscreen wiper bottle when used trickles into the spark plugs causing erosion and damage. Ford dealer doesn't want to know so why should I meet the bill for their fault?
The car was bought at auction

I would food up direct an complain, I know there was a defect with the rubbers around the windscreen from 1998 onwards. They should of fitted the replacement rubbers around the windscreen. I would ring ford get the number from the ford website.

Because as you didn't buy it from the dealer....so have no contract with them. No contract = no Sale of Goods Act rights.
You may have an argument with Ford themselves, as any warranty offered on a vehicle is attached to that vehicle, and not the owner, although you may be asked to prove that the fault is not wear and tear.

Its still under warranty, insist that that dealer get it rectify as this is not something of a wear and tear nature like tyres. If the dealer refused, complain to ford uk and take it from there. Hope it works out for you.

might not be under warranty as warranty is usual x years and or x miles. If it was bought at auction it would probably have more miles than the warranty would allow. - just guessing on that cos i can't see why somebody would stick a car under 3 years through an auction unless an ex company car..
