View Full Version : Petrol and Loyalty Cards
Hi
As many people here one of my major expences in petrol.
I was wondering if there are any other petrol stations that run loyalty cards other than tesco and BP/Sainsburys who use Nectar.
Thanks

Morrisons Supermarket do Morrisons miles or something. It's not normally the cheapest petrol though.

Shell Drivers Club, but from what I can work out buying petrol at Tesco and getting 4 x Clubcard points from the deals gives the best return.

I've stopped using Tesco Clubcard VISA for anything now, and instead use Shell Drivers Club with Shell Citicard Mastercard which gives Drivers Club Points AND 3% cashback simultaneously when used at Shell, and the Mastercard gives 1% cashback when used everywhere else, plus I think there is even better cashback (6% for first 3 months??) for new cardholders at the moment?
Edit: NB It should be said that the jury is still out about Shell Drivers Club administration - I think I still need to bludgeon them with a big stick about the points they still owe me from the transfer that should have occurred when they took over from Shell Pluspoints - I am not the only one - there was a thread on MSE about it a couple of months ago.

i had the problem with the conversion of plus points to drivers club points, but they sorted it out for me fairly quickly, but this should have been an automatic thing when they changed over i would have thought.
keep pestering them via email, its the only way.

I'm same as Peter, above.
Yes there is a hicup with Shell just now, but for the general motoring public, it's by far the best, easy to operate scheme (when it works!!)
& even better if you've a Shell site close to a superstore, 'cos they pricematch!!
Shell fuel is NOT supermarket fuel, either, so you have better petrol - plenty debate on that one elsewhere!

I'm a self employed driver, I pay cash and use either the tesco clubcard or morrisons miles card.
It's easier to find a Tesco's but I prefer the morrisons card as once you reach 4995 points you get a voucher in your hand which is the equivilent of cash to spend in store
