whilst driving my peogeot 307 53 plate petrol 1600cc

i am getting this message on my dashboard antipollutant fault followed by catyltic converter fault

the only way to correct this is to stop the engine and restart
can any one help before i go to a garage

Yeah you need to have the additive topped up. All Pug's use this system to get the emmissions down. Simple enough job.
Normally you will need one litre. There are two types. Green or red. And it's about a 30 minute job.
Can be DIY if you have some car-knowledge though.

Also, a small tip; when you fuel up, don't kerep putting ten quid or so in, Fill the tank. Cos everytiume you fuel up, the additive gets squirted into the fuel and uses it up more.

seriously?
ive never heard of this idea before in my life,why do they do have to do this,surely this is only a temporary measure?
is the fuel/air mixture not incorrect?

No, its to get the emissions lower, thus getting the car into a better CO2 rating for the road tax. Peugeot have been using this idea since 2001...
