I didn't know that PestPatrol was available free. I've just downloaded, installed and run it and it's detected and removed 6 objects (including 2 hijackers) that Spybot, Ad-Aware and Microsoft AntiSpyware failed to detect. Thanks a lot! :T

I'm a little suspicious about downloading this so called "free" software. If you browse to the actual pest patrol web-site www.pestpatrol.com they are charging for there antivirus and spyware software. If this "free" software is just a demo fair enough but free hmmm. I think it's always good to look a gift horse in the mouth, especially because of the amount of spyware around.

Its perfectly legitimate and its version 4 of pestpatrol and not the latest release version 5.

Cheers Hawkwind. Downloaded and spotted a few nasties Adaware and Spybot missed.
However, my sister downloaded and ran it until it said PC was clean. Then she ran Adaware and it found 2 more spyware items. So I wouldn't totally ditch Adaware, but use it as well as Pest Patrol.

@ rogue - yes, thanks. I'm in the process of changing over from IE to Firefox. I just want to get a little more used to using Firefox before I finally "make the break". :)

Hawkwind my apologies I'm just very suspicious when it comes to installing software nowadays as I've been hit quite badly by spyware in the past.
I shall also install pestpatrol version 4 to help protect me pc
