i have just got my quote for next year(2007/2008) it's £542ish full comp,
right i am with unity and have been for years it's alway been cheepest ,put i have 6years ncd on the paper work and throught this is not right ,so i look at the last two years they both say 6 years ncd (2005/2006 and 2006/2007)do's this mean i have 8years ncd or been paying to much over the last two years .
i have protected ncd too and had one bump in the last 5 years(i think) my fault and one that was not my fault other insurance payed out
any ideas because with not knowing my true ncd i cannot get a quote for cheeper insurance or money back and will be ring them to find out what is going on

Are you sure your NBC is protected, usually 2 years are deducted in the event of a claim, which would tally up with what you posted.

The best way to find out is call your insurer, ask them to explain. This way you will have a definite answer to get quotes with.

Your current insurer obviously gives the maximum available discount when 6 years is reached. Anything over that - 7 years, 8 years, 20 years - will not give any extra discount. That is why your documents from the last couple of years show 6 years.

Just call your current insurer and ask them how many years you came to them with and how many years you have accumulated in total.
