I was driving home at around 1am on a Monday morning and stopped at some traffic lights. Roads were dead. Green light caught the corner of my eye so I pulled out before realising they were still red as I drove accross this junction. It must have been the pedestrian crossing lights turning green even though the streets were deserted.
It was a complete lapse off concentration and I feel very bad about it. The thing is that about 30 seconds later, I was travelling down a main road and a a speed camera flashed me before I was even in its zone (shown by those white lines on the road). There were no other cars in close proximity who could explain the flash.
What I am guessing is that I have been seen/detected running a red light and then somebody in a CCTV operating centre has decided to photograph my number plates.
Could I be right about this or is it not possible? I could really do without the points on my license and the fine. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
