Boots Multi Vitamin Tablets - Past their sell by date.

Hi,

I wonder if someone can give me any advice on this please. I have just found some Boots Multi Vitamin Tablets (opened, but most of them left) with a sell by of April 07. My Dad opened them but forgets to have them!!

My question is, are they safe for us to have? Equally will they still be as effective? What is there to go "off" in a multi vitamin tablet? Is the sell by just a con for us to buy more?

Depends how long ago they were opened, I'd say that is more important than the sell by date. As they are sealed beforehand they will start to deteriorate over time once you open them and let air in.

Yes, thank you, I take your point, but what is actually "deteriorating" in them, their effectiveness or their safety? Is it worth having them, or is it better to throw them away?
