For any of you girls out there who may be in need of buying thrush treatment in the future.I went to Asda pharmacy at the weekend to get a Caneston tablet for my daughter, the pharmacist asked me if I had considered this brand,Galpharm single dose thrush treatment,it was the same ingredient and strength as Caneston but was almost half the price at £4.95.I got it and I have to say it has done the job.I think only Asda seem to sell it,they sell other Galpharm products which are also considerably cheaper than the leading brands.I tried the cold sore treatment and it was realy good and the same ingredients as Zovirax. So it's worth asking first before paying out for the other brands.

Yes, this is generally the case with most drugs, since you aren't paying for the brand name. Just check that the ingredients are the same.

As trace said, if you ask at any chemist for Fluconazole (the generic version of Canesten), they should have it in the dispensing area. It is usually around £5.

Also, the generic name for Canesten cream is Clotrimazole, and again should be available for general purchase.

Ordering online is fine if you are doing so in advance, but I wouldn't want to wait until the next day to treat thrush ... eek! x
