dentistry help please

how do nhs dentists work ? basically im missing two teeth as they were taken out by accident when i was younger by the dentist, i know i cant get em back :( but i could have treatment eg braces to create a gap and then have a false couple of teeth etc

but i have no idea if this is possible and how to find my local NHS dentist

any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

basically i have 2 teeth and then the sharp ones where i should have 4 teeth and then the sharp ones, but the dentist put braces on my teeth so there is still a noticeable gap between the 2 sharp ones and 2 non sharp ones.

what i was wanting was the 2 sharp ones to be put back a bit and 2 fake ones put in or a brace and then the two normal ones the buck teeth ones are ok

I'm not really sure that I understand what you mean, but I think this sounds like cosmetic treatment which would not be the remit of the NHS.

You can find your nearest NHS dentist who is accepting patients via www.nhs.uk (http://www.nhs.uk) or by contacting your PCT.

You might be better off looking for a local orthodontist and asking for a consultation on a private basis as it is very difficult to get orthodontics now on the NHS I'm afraid.

I live in Leeds, here you would call the "Leeds Dental Advice Line" and after a wait, you will be allocated an NHS dentist. This varies around the country though, if you call your local PCT they will let you know. If it is cosmetic you will have to pay, but an NHS dentist should be able to inform you what needs to be done.

I think this would come under the remit of cosmetic dentistry....my son has 2 front teeth and then his eye teeth (the pointy ones) and it's genetic (bloomin mother in law :mad: ).
