Hi there,
I've been using MSE for ages now but this is my first in the Forum! I just wondered if anyone else has experienced what I just have and if there is anyway around it.
I am in an annual contract with First (http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/southwest/bristol/home/)
They take £70 a month and send me a Zones 1 & 2 buss pass valid for 31 days from first use.
I started using it on Monday last week and on Friday it was lost/stolen along with my purse which only had cash in it apart from the pass. Reported it to police but they have said as there is no proof it was stolen they have registered it as lost and gave me a ref number.
I called the bus company and they have said that they do not replace/refund lost/stolen cards and there is nothing I can do about it. The way she said it was " we do not replace lost or stolen card for Bristol" which leads me to think that they do for other areas. I have used first for 6 years always on an annual contract of some kind. Loyalty does not count!Apparently this is in the terms and conditions of which is not viewable on the internet. They are not fourthcoming in sending a copy out to me either.
OK fair enough but I now have to pay again for my bus travel on top of the £70 already paid out.
This is pretty devestating for me as most of my money is allocated on bills and debts so I have little spare cash and this is going to cause me to go in the red.
Each pass has a ID number on it and they keep records of which ones they have sent out but apparently not for this reason.
Does anyone know if there is a loophole or something or is this a case of putting it down to experience and struggle through til next month?
Thanks in advance for your help.
