Which is the best online route mapping site?

We will be mapping a long journey across the uk soon and want to map out the route including stops etc .Which is the best route mapper?

Via Michelin is great as it even tells you what will be on the road direction signs you need to follow!

I assume you are driving, Via Michelin (http://www.viamichelin.com)is a good one, the default is in kms but if you go to options under the destination box, you can change the journey to miles, also change the type of car and the price per litre of petrol to give you an idea of the cost of your trip. When the route has been found you can choose various options, Michelin recommended, quickest, shortest, etc. Give it a go and see

Also, have a look at the AA (www.theaa.com (http://www.theaa.com)) route planner as it shows speed cameras and road works on the route.

I like the Toyota one http://www.getmethere.co.uk/, but I admit I still find a road atlas is best.

I have recently used several different route planners and have found that multimap (http://uk.multimap.com/) often gives incorrect directions! i.e. take the second exit at a roundabout when it should say take the first etc. If you reverse the route, it takes you on a totally different journey even using different motorways!

The RAC route planner (http://www.rac.co.uk/web/routeplanner/) does give accurate directions but the map is not user friendly i.e. you can't drag it with the mouse.

Google Maps (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps)gives accurate directions and if you don't particularly like the given route, you can simply drag the blue route line on the map to your chosen route with your mouse and the directions are amended accordingly. You can also click on the satellite view for more detailed information.

Google maps gets my vote!
