serial number - ALE41AT0348077... theres a number under the SN which is B60348077B

The car is volvo 850.

Just go into a Volvo dealer. They'll tell you for free (provided it's the original unit for your car) in about thirty seconds and give you the code for the keys as well. Who told you there was a charge as I had my SC-900 (V70) sorted without problem?
