My car insurance is due for renewal this month but I am relocating to the States in October.

Could anyone suggest where to try for 4 months of car insurance? All the screen scraper sites seem to restrict you to searching car insurance for the full year.

Welcome to MoneySavingExpert.com! :D

I have car insurance with Lloyds TSB, I had reason to cancel last year and they luckily didn't have any kind of "admin fee" or other term that stopped a full pro rata refund - try Lloyds TSB insurance and others that do not charge for early cancellation - that way you can cancel at 4 months ish without losing any money.

Don't forget to go through Quidco (http://www.quidco.com) for cashback reward too, if you're not familiar with Cashback rewards, take a look at Martin's articles :T

High St insurance brokers are usually the best for sorting out short term insurance.
