This is very interesting. Discussions can be found at the following:

I would like to know a little more about it before I jump in, though. And what's that about being allocated a new phone number? A little more research is called for, I think, but good spot.

It works and it class!
Hello
I actually have a VoIP phone, can I use that connected to my router rather than the software download?
Thanks,
Steve.

I find it better to sign up for 1899 and 18866 and use them with VOIP. Its easy to cofigure Firefly and a hardphone, like on www.virbiage.com
Pretty much identitical software to the latest version of the 1899 software (indeed same icon in the tray when running).

A couple of things:
The North America free calls got withdrawn sometime during today. This mirrors the move by 1899 in the last two or three days.
Its easy to cofigure Firefly and a hardphoneYou can configure Firefly to work with Voipbusters. Under options-networks enter the account under Name: Voipbuster; Server: iax.voipbuster.com; Username/password as per initial registration with Voipbuster. Check the box that says "Route my internal calls using this network"

1899 works like a dream!
To receive calls on your PC get siphone then get a number from sipgate. That works brilliantly too!
