Save the carrier bags that you get when you do your weekly shop etc they make excellent adn free nappy sacks.

Not very environmentally friendly but nor are the normal nappy sacks.

Another way to save:
Cot sheets/ cotbed sheets are ridiculously expensive. I bout a flat kingsize sheet for about £5, chopped it into 4, hemmed them and voila!

i did the same with a big one of those holey blankets. made two pram sized, two cot sized cost me about £5.

My best tip for saving money on baby products is just to weigh up where it is okay to buy cheaper products and when it is just a false economy.

For example, I pay the extra for good quality (Pampers) nappies, because I found that cheaper brands leaked and I was having to change them more often. Not to mention the discomfort for my son and extra washing!

I buy cheap baby wipes, though, and find they are just as good. Probably common sense, but thought I'd share my opinions.

In terms of clothes, you may as well buy cheaper quality clothes for newborn babies because they grow out of them so quickly. For toddler clothes, it is worth paying the extra for good quality clothes that are going to stand up to them!

i never used wet wipes with mine, just warm waterand cotton wool roll, used to last for ages. never bought proper clothes had 6 baby grows and 6 cardis and three little hats and 2 pairs mitts. they lived in that for first six to 9 months.
