May 5th I need to move a large empty aquarium. Don't want to risk it not fitting in my car when I get there. I'm thinking toyota hiace basic ford transit size.

Any ideas of the best place to either get a man with a van (probably a mornings work max) or van hire? Its literally a trip between leeds and bradford. As its a bank holiday weekend most of the online van hire comps aren't open Monday (in addition to sunday) so I get bent over for an extra days hire :(

I only need the van for about 4 hours tops

Remember you will need at least two of you to lift the aquarium- even when empty they are heavy and need to be properly supported to avoid stressing the glass.;)

p.s. And remember to fishless cycle if you plant to put fish in it :T
If you haven't the faintest what I'm talking about, let me know, I can point you in the right direction.

Dont B & Q hire vans with hourly rates ?

also I remember once we hired a van for the weekend telling them we wanted to pick it up Saturday morning and return it at 6pm on the Sat evening (knowing that they close at 5pm :o )
They let us return it on the Monday morning because obviously they were closed sunday and we were only charged for the one day.........what a bargain eh, considering we were using it on the sunday as well :D

cheers for the replies, yes can return Sat but most of the ones I;ve tried close at midday. Tank has to be stripped down before I collect.

In terms of the tank. Yep is coming with fish. filters are going to be run as long as possible then bagged. got enough declorinator to handle filling the tank (got some 5 gallon containers to fill a couple of days before to clear and let temp com up to room temp. (hard work this fish moving malarky!)

You can usually find anything you want an eBay ... so I'd have a quick gander on there ...

Would have been even bigger bargain if you'd found that you should not have been driving it on Sunday. The insurance may only have covered you till 18.00 on Saturday and the return of the van to the depot/store on Monday morning.
