Hi
Did anyone watch this programme last night? I missed it but wondered if there was any "recommendations" - I'm sure I read somewhere the programme would reveal a high street £15 moisturiser that is as effective as a top notch £135 creme de la Mer one ...or something like that! Thx.

There was also a No.7 product called refine and rewind? (I think!) they only flashed it up on the screen very briefly but it apparently had more effect on the free radicals than the £130 cream which showed no effects whatsoever!
I have one £5 voucher left to use up before the 31st so I'm hoping that there hasn't been too much of a rush on it before I can get to Boots on Friday :D

Just checked Boots.com, I'm not sure whether they flashed up "No7 Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum" or "No7 Refine & Rewind Intense Perfecting Serum" but checked both - out of stock, real shame as they have a 3 for 2 on at the moment, I'll try in Town.
Can anyone confirm which of the two serums above they showed as being better than the £130 cream. May as well get the right one.
I've used both of those No7 serums in the past and they're not moisturisers, you have to apply them BEFORE using moisturiser.

It was the Protect and Perfect Serum BOOts NO 7
POINT :- boots if one of the VERY FEW companies to do indepth research on product effectiveness.
Other products shown
NIVEA Visage Vit C (no suprise as vitamin C is a master antioxident see Rosehip oil)
Also shown
The Organic Pharmacy Antioxident Face Gel around £30
They also showed a quick pic of Boots Time Delay Spf8 in a pink glass jar.
The two ridiculous priced ones were PREVAGE and some other green thing in a nice box and these performed worst!.
I Think the Nivea one had the best Antioxidant capability and the Boots serum helped repair "some" note "some" damage!.
So I guess use the NO7 serum and the Nivea cream if you want best and cheapest results around £30 a month or £150 for six months!.
Be interesting if people post their experiences of these products but:-
I am sticking with my beloved Rosehip Oil why its full of natural Vitamin C and Tretinoin ,Beta Carotene Tannins and GLA's costs £10 for 100ml around 6 months true moneysaving! Vitrual zero side effects!.
Why because there is lots of scientific research to back up this natural products effectiveness! Whole point of the whole Horizon programme!

Also note that the MOST EFFECTIVE product named was Tretinoin or RetinA prescription only here but you can buy it for around £15 from USA if you can live with the side effects!?.

Thanks for that Shokadelika - took your advice and my Rosehip Oil arrived this morning - couple of quickie questions, do I just use it undiluted, a few drops before my moisturiser morning and night, and can you tell me how long it'll be before I'm drop dead gorgeous and look 10 years younger;) (maybe a little hopeful on that one).
thanks

Use it undiluted as a serum under your normal moisturiser (though you don't need another moisturiser really as the Rosehip Oil is excellent on it own) twice a day if you want especially good round the eye area.
I Decant some into a smaller bottle and keep the bulk in the fridge and away from light this keeps the oil fresh
.Catherine Denueve's favorite beauty product ;) .

i swear by making my own creams and lotions with active ingredients.
i found a company called skinactives.com on ebay.
they are in the states and have a forum.
they have receipes to make up your own (much much cheaper) creme de la mer and prevage and also lots of other creams. or just make up your own to suit you.
i like making my own creams. its good fun and also very cheap too also with the added bonus of actually using active ingredients that really work.

Dear Shokadelika
Thanks for useful info. Where do you buy the rosehip oil from?

Yes, I got my three bottles of it today at Silverlink Retail Park, North Tyneside. Mind you, it was the last three bottles (3 for 2 offer).

The Boots in my town have totally sold out of the Protect and Perfect serum.
Just goes to show the power of advertising. I remeber watching a guy on breakfast T.V. singing the virtues of taking liquid cod liver oil in a dash of milk. When I went to the health food shop the next day the lady behind the counter wondered what she had missed. Every bottle was sold within 45 minutes of opening.

I didn't see this programme but wish I had. I also use rosehip oil plus a host of other natural moisturisers from my own website. You don't have to fight wrinkles with chemicals! Read your ingredients list please.

Did not see the prog but I don't understand why you seem to be suggesting that the prog referred to the ones that you refer to
"I am sticking with my beloved Rosehip Oil why its full of natural Vitamin C and Tretinoin ,Beta Carotene Tannins and GLA's costs £10 for 100ml around 6 months true moneysaving! Vitrual zero side effects!. Why because there is lots of scientific research to back up this natural products effectiveness! Whole point of the whole Horizon programme!"
Where is the scientific research for these products that you mention?

Hi shokadelika i have just taken your tip and have brought some. I want it for the fine lines around my eyes in particular. I hope it works but i love the sound of it. I am using an expensive one at the moment and it has helped but its £30 a time which is a lot of money. Although it lasts a long time. Clarins....advanced extra firming eye contour cream...

I watched the Horizon prog and had every intention of buying the boots no7 serum, but when i checked the ingredients it is loaded with chemicals such as parabens which is bad for the skin as it strips its natural oils and ages the skin.Type parabens and some of the other ingredients in this serum into google and it will give you all the info you need.I have thrown out all my skincare with chemicals in them.

Just some research---- Lazy?
I requested the research data on the products you appeared to say Horizon recomended i.e the products you use.
You also decided to call me lazy
Clearly I made an unreasonable request of you. You did not provide research, just a collection of statements none of which are credible in scientific terms.
I really do hope it proves to be useful to those with scars (when it has been fully tested and evaluated). The statement also mentions premature aging...this is a devastating dreadful disease that affects skin bones etc. Not quite the same as normal ageing with wrinkles.
