Hi

Can anyone tell me where i stand - I cancelled my pru health direct debit & sent them a letter to say i no longer wanted the health policy. It appears that they never got the letter and last month set up a new direct debit to recover the missing payments. I did not authorise this and the bank have backed me up in that they acknowledge that i cancelled the dd in the first place but pru won't give me my money back - where do i stand?

Sorry for being long winded

Pruhealth also set by DD up after I cancelled it (never got my cashback thru Quidco so decided policy wasn't cost effective) be interested to see how you get on.

I think you are covered by the direct debit guarantee, and the bank should be able to reamburse you and chase the pru for the money. I would contact your bank

Wouldnt this come under the banks 'Direct Debit Guarantee'? I always thought the bank refunded you then chased the company in this kind of case, as they have set up a Direct Debit without your consent.

I would ask the bank for a copy of their Direct Debit Guarantee, and how you file a formal complaint regarding fraudulent transactions on your account to get this moving.
