Hello everybody, I have just been diagnosed with sleep aponea and I wondered if anyone out there has any advice etc. about this condition as I find it all very scary. Aparrently I stop breathing up to 60 times an hour during the night, I dont waken up every time but waken maybe half a dozen times during the night and find it hard to go back to sleep as I also take panic attacks when I waken up I am maybe choking or gasping then I panic as I feel that I cant breathe, it seems like a vicious circle. I am off work as I am so tired with not getting enough sleep and am trying not to doze during the day so I will sleep at night ( it does'nt really work) Now I am waiting for an appointment to have a sleep mask fitted and to spend the night in the sleep clinic, So if any of you nice people out there have any words of wisdom I would be glad to hear them, Thanks

Glad

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this: Sorry, giving or asking for medical advice is not permitted on this forum as it’s not what this site is about. While discussing medical insurance policies, cheaper ways to see consultants, cashback for alternative health treatments and how to get specific medication cheaper (legally) are all perfectly acceptable we ask you specifically not to discuss what to do in the event of certain medical problems (please see this rule (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=31048) on the Health Board).
