Hi
When I went to bed on Monday evening, I discovered lots and lots of red angry looking spots on my body, they weren't itchy but I had no idea what they were.
I visited my GP on Tuesday morning who said they were due to an allergy and prescribed me some anti-histamines (even though they weren't itchy). He said I wasn't contagious so I went into work.
By Wednesday morning I began to ache, and I had more spots come up on my body, there were a few on my tummy and buttocks and a few at the top of my legs. Due to the aches, I again visited my local surgery (luckily I saw a different GP).
I had a cold sore on my lip develop on the Thursday before the spots developed and my GP said I was suffering from erythema multiforme, however I was not and still am not convinced that this is what I have (as literature he gave me said spots don't usually appear on body but on arms, legs and not many on my legs at all). GP prescribed me some tablets and steroid cream.
I've been taking the tablets as prescribed and using the cream but since Wednesday I've developed more spots, although the original spots I had don't look as angry as they did. Some of the spots are now itchy, but bearable in that I'm not wanting to scratch all the time. Also the pain underneath the areas where the spots were has now more or less gone.
I've just visited the NHS Direct website and when I answer the question that the spots are itchy and raised, it just tells me I have "hives" and that the rash should disappear within a few hours, but I've had my spots since some time on Monday (not sure when cos didn't notice them until late at night when took off my clothes - no spots on my face or hands).
Has anyone here suffered from similar spots or are you aware of other websites that I could search that could give me a better indication of what they are.
Thanks

PS Sorry if I've made everyone itch read this !
