Hi all,
I thought I'd share a bargain with you all. I wear single vision specs as well as contacts and recently received an advert for www.myoptics.com mentioning cheap glasses. After a little poking around their website I bought a pair of unisex glasses which were very similar to my current pair which came with free single vision plastics lenses, free scratch protective coating and hard case with cloth. The price? £15.00 delivered to my door. Better than the £99 I used to pay for 2 pairs from SpecSavers. Chuffed with this I ordered a second pair and added on the option of tinted lenses. Total price for that pair: £22.
Both pairs of specs arrived within a week, were exactly right for my prescription and left me very happy to recommend to others. For those wondering how you can possibly order glasses online the website has some great advice on styles etc and you can actually print out images of the glasses at their real size to compare to your face (I use printer transparencies).
A couple of points to note: They only go to +/- 6.0 on the prescription power and they do not yet offer bi- or vari-focals.
