Do you roll the easter eggs down a hill? I had not heard about anyone doing that until very recently, I wonder what the origins are?

My parents grew up Catholics and rolled eggs down a hill every easter. They told me it was to represent the stone being rolled from Jesus tomb at the time of the resurrection.

LOL......Strange how we're all told different things. I was also brought up a catholic and was told that hot cross buns represented the stone over the tomb.

I think that we'll find that with Catholicism - everything will have some reference to God, Jesus, Sin or guilt. ;)

Thank God for atheism.

"The fool says in his heart there is no God" ... as a Christian, we believe Easter is a time to celebrate that Jesus did not die as any other human does - he rose again and is alive, conquering death. Easter eggs for us symbolise the empty tomb, the cross on the bun makes us remember how he died for our transgressions so that we may have eternal life ... but, I don't know why they roll eggs down hills - maybe it was the stone rolled away from the tomb?
We are celebrating the hope for our future this weekend. :T

I dont see anyone on this board saying there wasn't a God. I think the last comment about atheism was just a throwaway joke and was not meant to offend. No-one was in any way criticising your belief but I think your quote from the Bible that to not believe in your God was being a fool was, I feel, offensive. You have your faith and I'm glad for you, but please dont criticize those that may or may not share it.

Surely everyone has the right to their own beliefs?

The quote is from the Bible - not made up by me. And I agree with you that everybody is entitled to their own choice. I am very happy with mine!

Happy Easter!
