Is anyone else having a problem getting delivery of a new Mazda3 TS2?

I placed an order for one with New Car Discount in October. The initial delivery estimate for a date in mid November has been repeatedly deferred, most recently to February. I'm currently awaiting replies to my emails and letter requesting an explanation for the delays.

Can anyone please shed any light on whether there is a problem with Mazda UK deliveries? Or a problem with New Car Discount?

Any useful advice on my options would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

A friend of mine had a similar problem with a car through a broker - it was a Toyota corola verso. I cant honestly say it was new car discount, but the name does ring a bell. Various prommise dates came and went, and she ended up having to threaten legal action to get her money back.

Cant imagine any supply problems with Mazda 3 unless you have specified an odd spec with lots of options

Please don't tar all brokers with the same brush. Like brokers in all trades (mortgage brokers, finance brokers, whatever...there's great ones, and not so great ones!)

If you use a broker where you can order direct with the supplying dealer..then you're in control of the order and in touch with the dealer - not having to do it all through a third party. There's a few of us where your transaction is all as normal, direct with a main dealer, giving you the best of both worlds - internet prices but a normal transaction with a bricks and mortar dealership.

Give your current supplier a deadline, 24hrs, in which to respond to you, if you've paid a deposit. 3mths+ for a Mazda is ridiculous.

There's no particular issues on Mazda's we know of - if you let us know the engine size and colour we'll tell you what general UK availability is like (a quick call to any Mazda dealer will also give you this information), Mazda's are generally 2-3 weeks from spare UK stock or 8-9 weeks factory order, at worst.

Thanks for the replies.

The car ordered is:

Mazda 3
TS2 5dr Hatchback
Petrol Manual
Metallic silver
(Dealer fitted option: Park Assist sensors)

new-car-discount.com offered the car at a good price but that's no use if they won't deliver.

Advice on general UK availability would be much appreciated.

This is how easy it is to get a Mazda 3 - the first Mazda dealer on our frindly dealer supplier list I called (timed at 10.25am 1st Feb) has a TS2 5dr 1.6 manual hatch in silver in their own stock- so as thought - they are available within days. £13,450 on the road with you as first and only owner and 12m tax.

Rear parking sensor fitted and colour coded for £299.95 inc vat

..how long have you been waiting?!?

Sorry dealdrivers - I was not trying to tar you all with the same brush - perhaps my post was not very well written - I was just commenting that a friend had a similar issue. I have no aversion to brokers, and would have used them myself a few times, but have always wanted to part ex, and this is usually an issue.

Pete D - just out of interest, did you get a positive result on this?

I checked leadtimes again today just to 'test the water' and that spec' remains easily available. Hope you've got it sorted.....it's a great car but you never need to wait that long for it!

Hope it got resolved.

Finally a resolution. I eventually received the Mazda3 from NewCarDiscount.com today. I have had an emailed apology from their MD but still no explanation of the delay yet; however but they did deliver the car for free because of the excessive delay.

Thanks again for the replies.

Correction: I should have written 'new-car-discount.com' (albeit I think one web address redirects to the other).
