When the page loads click on "add to basket" from one of the sim cards that are free.
Then click the Back button on the browser.
Scroll down the page and click on "add to basket" for one of the sim cards that costs £9.99
The screen will update and you will see a free phone, 2 sim cards, memory card and BT headset showing free.
Go through the order and fill in your details, when it gets to the payment screen it will jump past it and your order will be confirmed.

Hmm, well the original link didn't show that £9.99 sims... the "cache" of the page did. So obviously a glitch that they've corrected. I tried anyway cos nothing to lose. Had two emails..

I found mine you go to view my bill then the third category on the page i between my mbile and my tariff and then click view delivery and order details hth's

Ordered following the steps, went through though ain't got a clue what'll happen. since they ain't got any payment details then I guess they can't take anything from me, thought that'd mean I'd have to get something first!

The other thread says that we wont receive these, disappointed, according to 'mobile monkey', its illegal and we will get a call and follow up email stating out of stock ........... I really hope s/he's wrong xx

Its just gone through for mehad to try a few times though, did the first free sim and the first 9.99 sim but did notice doing others you didnt get the free memory on the other phones but got a £75 HMV voucher on one, also if i used my log in on O2 it didnt work but did if i created a new account, so may be worth a try if you are struggling to do it.
Havnt got the emails yet though!
Think they have caught up with this. not working this morning

Tried it again this morning logging in using the account name I set up last night, it worked this time, got my order confirmation number and even got an email confirming my order details.
Delivery due Tuesday, let's see if it arrives.
Think they have caught up with this. not working this morning

It's accessible through Google's cache so o2 have no control over that (Unless they request having their whole site removed which would be corporate suicide)

tried again this morning, the free phone was samsung rather than nec this time...... but order still declined.
does it make a difference which sims you choose?? or do we reckon this has closed now and is just a marketing tool to get ppl to sign up to o2 with email addys??? anyone read the t&c's???

ISSUE: The O2 Services team have advised that a known error on the O2 shop which allows customers to fraudulently obtain free handsets has been added to various websites. It has been identified there is currently over 12,000 free handset orders in backlog as a result of this issue.
IMPACT: Splash pages have been applied to the Consumer shop to prevent any further fraudulent activity. External Customers attempting to place orders with O2 for new handsets and connections will not be able to at present. This change will also be implemented onto the Telesales shop. Once the change begins the Telesales shop will also be off line.
Upgrade and Agent Shop are not impacted by this issue
UPDATE (15:30 27/01/07): The O2 Services Team had a change scheduled for Monday night which as had to be brought foward.(CCR 3176578). This change has been through the test environment and will resolve the underlying issue.
RESOLUTION TIMESCALES: TBC.

I only said that as the other one mysteriously dissapeared yet these two were allowed and ppl were saying it was illegal etc... and the other threadn was the biggest one.. just wondered why they hadnt all been pulled :rolleyes: doesnt matter really though does it

I've just contacted O2 Customer Services about these phone. I've been told that all orders up until 25th will be honoured and after that will either be asked to pay or be cancelled.
I'll hang on to our old phones.
They say there was a glitch but it's now fixed.

O2s T&C states contract exists once email confirmation of order received....

i signed up for this and i got the out of stock email, the only problem i am having is viewing my bill i click on the view my bill link and i get nothing just takes me back to the page i started from
and no phone yet
