Apologies, for posting here, not quite sure what board to post on.
Can anyone recommend a good company that does prescription lense swimming goggles.
There are several out there, but I want to be sure I go for a good one.
Thanks

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=1009335#post1009335)) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. ideally looking to purchase them cheaper than an optician sells them at.
I have come across loads of websites, but hoped I would be able to get a recommendation of one of them from previous shoppers.
I guess it is still quite a new thing in the world of swimming, so may just take our chances on one of them.
Thanks for your replies

i got a set from http://www.aquagoggles.com/ it is an american site but worked out at approx £15 at the time including delivery. probably even cheaper now! Can highly recommend them - they don't steam up easily, look good and seem well made

I think aquagoggles is the company I used. The good thing about them, as opposed to the ones you buy off the shelf in the opticians, is you can have a different strength for each eye. They were very helpful when I emailed, and told me exactly what strength to order. You should buy them slightly weaker than your glasses if I remember, to account for the effect of the water.

I was going to buy some then found (as I have a very high prescription) they'd cost almost £200 - so I bought some disposable soft contact lenses which are fine in a nice wet environment, and I can sometimes wear them in other situations too. About £40 for 30 pairs, will keep me going for ages as I don't swim often but love to scuba on holiday.
If you are a memeber at Costco they do them there. Not sure of the cost though but it may be worth a try.

Don't laugh, but try Tescos - their opticians do a range of prescription sports glasses (including skiing goggles) so they just might be able to get swimming goggles too!
