I need to fit a new reverse light bulb to my micra (2002). Went to Halfords and bought one but can't figure out how exactly to fit it. Any advice appreciated.

Don't halfords fit the bulbs for £1.99?

It should be in the handbook.
Failing that, there should be a pice of interior trim to remove to expose the wires or the bulb holder - with 2 clips to compress to reveal the front of the cuircuitry and the bulb holder. But that is only guessing from Fiat Punto, Vauxhall Corsa and Astra experience.

instead of a panel with clips ,there may be two(or maybe 3-4 ) plastic wing-nut type fixings in the boot if these are present unscrew them ,and this may release the whole light cluster from the car which then lets you gain access to the bulb housings.
If it is this method to get to the bulbs ,you will probably find that the light cluster is a very tight fit against the car body but with a wee bit of prising/rocking it will come loose.................honest

Oh bjollox. You think they might have mentioned it when I asked them if they knew what I'd need to do earlier today.
I think the manual is currently living in the house and I'm on hols at the far end of the country. Will give the other suggestions a try though.

Is this the facelift / new micra or the last of the old shape ones?

Got it sorted. Turns out there were a couple of clips to take out the whole cluster on the inside. A 2 minute job in the end and it all works now.
Cheers
