I don't know if this has ever been covered here before, but while looking for some information for another thread in the forum I came across the Dept of Health (http://www.dh.gov.uk/PolicyAndGuidance/MedicinesPharmacyAndIndustry/GenericMedicines/MaximumPriceScheme/ListOfMaximumPriceGenericMedicines/fs/en?CONTENT_ID=4026674&chk=Vw8wqY) website which gives a list of the maximum prices legally allowed to be charged in the UK for generic medicines.
I'm not sure what the procedure would be in reporting pharmacies/supermarkets etc if you found them to be over-charging for these products, but it's certainly worth checking out what you are actually paying.
I hope this is of some help to people, and I apologise if it's previously been covered :o
