a few gliches in this - if you make a mistake you get a huge page error message that doesn't actually tell you what you've done wrong (you can go back and try and work it out) or it takes you to the top of the page when you try and submit and again doesn't tell you where the error is (it does this if you miss out your phone number).
great find though if it works

its though the post, you get a sheet of paper with your travel confirmation/times on, and a card to give to the ticket person on board the train showing you have authorisation to travel. You dont get actual train tickets.
Also says they are non transferrable, only valid on journey specified. And they reserve the right to ask for proof of ID when travelling on the promotion. Just in case the tickets are to be given to someone else.
Anyone not able to provide proof of ID as per ticket will be charged the full standard fare.

My ticket travel starts end of jan and I've got them already.
However, I hope you take note of the t&c stated below in case you book in that period:
Journeys can be made between 5 January 2007 and 30 March 2007 inclusive, however please note that travel during ‘half-term’ school holidays, between 10 February 2007 and 25 February 2007 (inclusive) is not permitted.

My son however got his first journey choice of Lancaster to Leeds but the times are: Depart at 05.20, change at Coventry. Depart Coventry 8.23 arrive Leeds 11.02. Almost a 6 hour journey, I could nearly do it that quick on my pushbike!!
Return journey leaves Leeds at 15.10 and arrives home Via Birmingham at twenty to eight.

its 2500 return journeys....
10,000 free tickets are available. Two tickets equal one return journey. Travel can be made every day of the week except Sundays. Therefore, 10,000 free journeys equates to 2,500 return journeys for 2 people. Closing date for receiving applications is Monday 18th December 2006. Tickets will be available while stocks last.

Does anyone know if break of journey is allowed on these? It doesn't explicitly say on the tickets anywhere that break of journey is disallowed. I'm just wanting to terminate my trip early, and start my trip late. The National Rail Conditions of Carriage allow this unless prohibited by the train operator which it says will make it clear, but I don't see that here. The free ticket T&C only says "valid on the specified service", I would be using the same train just stopping early and starting late...
Any experts?

It's unlikely as they do give specific travel times. If you broke off the journey you would effectively be getting on a later train which may already be full.

No, this would be the same train. Here's a better example:
I got tickets to Aberdeen, but I'm wanting to actually go to Edinburgh. So, I take the train that I was going to take to Aberdeen, I just happen to exit one stop early. Likewise, on the return segment, I just join the same train (that I would have caught in Aberdeen) at Edinburgh instead. So it's the same service, if service is defined as the train.

If its the same train as specified on the ticket I cant see a problem...
although if you board at a later stop you may find that your allocated seats have been taken by someone else, as people will assume you havent shown up...

Ah yes, I see what you mean now. I misunderstood. Can't see why this shouldn't be okay other than above poster says and the seats might have been taken. I got some tickets to Leeds. On the way there they went via Coventry but the return journey was via Birmingham so we couldn't do that, plus the fact it left at 5.35 in the morning!

Big thanks to OP stubags - we've just got back from the Bergen cruise to find our tickets for Newcastle to Edinburgh on 03/03/07 waiting for us!!
I applied for son and me and wife applied for herself and daughter and we've got same times and carriages thankfully.
Although of course, our fortune is tempered with the sad news of the tragic accident on the Virgin London to Glasgow line.
