Free DVD of Still Game series 1 episode 1 in this Saturdays Daily Record. As this is a Scottish paper and the programme (IMHO one of the all-time best comedy programmes :D ) is also Scottish these are of limited availability and indeed limited interest south of the border.

Not much use to us who have all three series already :p

I've been getting about £10 worth of newspapers EVERY WEEK for almost a year and never had to pay for a single one thanks to vouchers & coupons.

I've currently got some for The Sun, The Mirror, Daily Telegraph, Daily Express, Guardian & Observer and a few weekly magazines.

As well as a load of free CDs and DVDs from national dailies, I've had other things from the local rags.

Only on Monday, courtesy of the Nottingham Post, my wife and I visited the local Showcase cinema and watched a movie for free, collected 6 Allison wholemeal loaves from a local supermarket for free on the way home, and to round off the evening, collected 2 portions of fish, chips and mushy peas for free from a local chip shop.

I hope I might get the free DVD south of the border cos it'll definitely be free for me !!!!!!

You don't seem to be a very friendly person devild, I am shocked at the way you replied to the fact that buying something to get a freebie was not strictly free, we all must show friendlyness on MSE, it is that spirit that makes MSE so popular, I had this pointed out to me by the boss and his lovely staff because at one time I was a bit cheeky with my replies too, I am a changed person now, I love MSE and all the members, in fact, it has changed my life. Don't be so touchy my friend. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/elvis_bloggs/Album%201/1a_y_tongue1.gif

Elvis I love your brand of spam that keeps the oldest posts alive, but perhaps your post should have been aimed at Smartasss who was taking a pop at the original poster. My comment was not being cheeky, it was to point out there was no need for Smartasss's comment when someone was genuinely trying to let MSE members know about the DVD. People should be encouraged to contribute and not have the p*ss taken out of them. Sorry you are so sensitive about this :) but I appreciate your concern for my well being. Cheers

Many just arrive in the post from the various newspaper groups.
I presume some are as a result of registering with their websites at one time or another for information or similar. Perhaps some from surveys that I completed where they enquire about the newspapers you buy and/or read.

Some come from the newspapers themselves.
For instance.
The other day I found a £1 coupon for Heat or OK or some other weekly style magazine in a daily newspaper that costs 40p.
I have a 40p coupon so it cost me nothing.
However I now have a coupon for £1 so "buying" the newspaper actually increases the value of my "newsagents voucher stash" by 60p.
If the coupon (like the £1 Heat/Ok mag one) has a reasonable "lifetime" (valid for redemption for 2 or 3 weeks or so) then "buying" several copies of the newspaper is very worthwhile.

eg. Buy 5 copies of a daily at 40p = £2
Each copy has £1 coupon in so now have £5 in vouchers
£3 MORE than I started out with !

Incidentally, going back to my Monday night out for free, I now have sufficient tokens collected from the Notts Post for a further 6 cinema tickets, an additional 6 portions of fish, chips & mushy peas, and another 4 loaves of Allison wholemeal.

Starting next week they are doing FREE PINTS OF BEER !

i tend to post these when i find them as i dont usually buy a paper unless it has a freebie in that i want as if it cost less that way than going out and paying full price it still winds up a money saving idea in my humble opinion

regards
