I am moving to Sweden soon and taking my car. Swedish laws dictate that I have to have snow tyres which I cant afford with the cost of the move. I plan on parking my car till March when I can use normal tyres again.

I know that I will have to start the car regularly to keep the battery good, but is there anything else I should do? Do I need to drain any fluids? How long do I have to leave the car running to keep everything juiced and in working order?

Any hints or suggestions appreciated.

Run the engine for 10mins once a week until its warm. if possible, a very quick run around the block is the best thing though. make sure the oil is fresh too. when leaving the car parked in one place, leave it with the handbrake off and in gear to prevent the rear brakes getting jammed on.

There are a few things in this link;

Plus one of my own;

If the car is garaged and on the 'flat' (very important this) leave the hand brake off as this will prevent the cable from stretching!

Snow tyres are cheaper in Sweden from what a friend said so maybe worth looking into buying them over there.
