Does anyone know if we can transport to an hosp appt for my husband. The hosp is 30miles away and i as his carer has to attend with him, but it would mean a train and taxi ride if we went on our own.If there is, who do we get in touch with?
thanks val

Many people volunteer as drivers for this purpose, plus the NHS does provide transport.
I'd phone the hospital to ask what is available.

Have you looked for information on the hospitals website?
Also look for information from their patient Liason service (PALS)

It may be worth asking your GP surgery what they are aware of as well.
I know my parents are always getting transport arranged when they have to go to hospital, because neither of them drive and it's not an easy journey.
When my husband had his leg amputated he always had the patient ambulance pick him up for hospital appointments as I don't drive. It was arranged through our GP's surgery so give them a ring but remember to tell them that you need to go with him too so they can book two seats.
