OK so my brakes are squeaking on my Focus. Got the pressure washer out and gave the wheels a good blasting. Problem solved for a few days. Now they have started to squeak again. Pads are only 60% odd worn as of MOT in August.
What could be the problem other than brake dust build up? And whats the solution? Another blast with the pressure washer?
Don't really wanna buy cooper grease as I've hard it's a bit pricey!

Small tube of coppaslip (like a toothpaste tube) is about £2.99.
You know it makes sense.

Do not put anything on the brake discs.
If they are squealing when you apply the brakes it is not a problem.

Yeah it's only when I apply the brakes. Just assumed it was a build up of dust as I haven't washed the car for quite a while!

Coppaslip the back of the pads where they contact the carriers and the piston.
I served my time as a mechanic when I left school, and this solves 99% of the cases. If it doesn't, its new discs/pads time due to grossly dissimilar wear.
I'd go with the £2.99 option. You cant be [I]that[I] skint.
