any one ever taken Doxy-cycline? (Malaria tablets)

Hi, i am going travelling to Thailand,cambodia and Vietnam in November for 6 months and have been prescribed Doxy-cycline malaria tablets.
The doctor told me this will make my contraceptive pill invalid. however i have heard so many different things, and when he put this though his computer it flashed up "risk minimal". He said it can vary from person to person but he had to make me aware of the risk.

Has anyone else taken this while on the contraceptive pill?
