Hi folks, I have a '99 Honda Civic and am about to embark on fitting a cd changer in the boot of the car, (was going to pay someone to do it but heard it costs up to £60, but considering the head unit and changer cost £25..blah blah).

Anyway, my question is has, anyone on here done this before and have any tips, especially if you have done this on a civic?

Thanks....

I've not fitted a changer in a civic but the principles will be the same.

Take your time to ensure that you don't snag the lead anywhere, I've always ended up removing the passenger seat as it's safer.

Leave a loop at the back of the radio so that you can disconnect the lead before pulling the radio completely out. But make sure that you can get the lead out of the way when you push the radio in, trapping it could damage the lead.

Make sure you put the horizontal or vertical bits on the changer the right way round, I forgot this once and all I got was skipping.

The lead should be long enough to reach from the radio to the boot, if it isn't, consider getting a longer lead rather than stretching and damaging it.

And most of all, good luck:D
