I went to Knowsley Safari Park and when I drove into the monkey section - the monkeys literally attacked my car - They bit off and swallowed the little bits that spray water onto my windscreen (i saw little wires coming out of the pieces) I am now left without the ability to spray my windscreen HELP!
Wher can I get these fitted or bought for cheap? I have a ford galaxy Gia 2.3

Any ford dealer with a parts deptartment will be able to get you some replacement ones ...............and they should be easy to pop in yourself:)

Can't help at all, but just wanted to say those little blighters, at the same zoo, stripped most of the rubber seals from our car too :D Scary isn't it?

Hope you get sorted.

Just thought I would sympathise with you on that, we went last year and the bloody babboons did the same to me.

A word of warning to anyone, even if the kids nag you, dont go through the babboon enclosure.

I think I noticed at least a dozen other cars, some of them nearly new completely wrecked.

I see some serious Money Saving messages here:
1. Don't go to the Safari Park
or
2. Buy a cheap car especially for the monkey area.
or
3. Shake the blighters off by going forward and stopping abruptly! Gets 'em every time.

Not quite the same, but I once went to an "Open Zoo" where some species were wandering about in the open. The little monkeys would wait in low branches then reach down and pull your hair, put their hands in your pockets and help themselves, grab any food or drinks you had and if you were really unlucky piddle on you from above. Little gits.

Being a Gia they are probably heated, and cheap they won't be, especialy when you add the fitting cost on.

Beware :D

Didn't Diedre Barlow's specs get eaten by the blighters at this zoo?

(Apols for resurrecting old threads - just realised I'd filed them away to answer "later" ) :o

This is still one of the funniest threads ever posted imo :D

Hee, sorry but I can't help laughing. You should never take a nice car to a safari park. It spoils teh fun if you're worrying.

We went to a safari park in Scotland in an old Sierra.

The monkeys ate the aerial, pulled off the wipers, the giraffes finished off teh wipers and the lions pulled out the rubber seals round the lights.

We were lucky enough to be able to park up in teh lion enclosure, and one came over and started rubbing his cheek around teh corner of the car.
'Ooh,' I said,' he's just like a little !!!!! cat.'

Then we saw teh black rubber between his teeth.

We all roared with laughter, and a good time was had by all.

The emus pecked us, which was a bit scary when I realised hubs had left the window open, just before he swapped seats with me (grrr). And when we left, there wasn't a panel without a dent.

But we had a great tiem, and still laugh about it .

Sorry to laugh :D but this really made me chuckle! We went to Knowsley a couple of years ago, they didn't like our car much, but managed to snap the back number plate off the car in front in half! We picked the broken bit up (quickly shut the car door) and gave it back to the owner at the end!

LOL!

Went once to Longleat and, to be fair, they have half a dozen signs on the way to the Monkey Enclosure saying "Monkeys cause serious damage, are you SURE you want to go in there? sort of thing?.

Made the mistake of stopping briefly and what seemed like the worlds smallest monkey (maybe 6 inches tall) climbed onto the rear of my roof. I could see him in the door mirror but it was the ripping sound that got my attention. He managed to loosen and tear up the trim along the driver side doors all on his own in two seconds even though it was ratcheted in the other direction. When I went to the VW garage I was told it would be a three man job just to stretch it back down again!

Agree, but I'd be careful about the other extreme as well...my sister-in-law broke down in the monkey enclosure at Knowsley a few weeks ago....

On the plus side, the park did give her a free ticket for a return visit!

hee hee hee hee, it seems we've all had interaction with the wildlife. I can't help but laugh, we think we're so clever, but a monkey can trash our cars quicker than any scrap merchant.

It's nearly as funny as when the monkeys picked and chucked their fleas at my husband! We didn't go back to FlamingoLand much after that :D

Oh, I needed a giggle!! Thank you OP. I haven't any safari park stories to share and realise now I have seriously missed out on entertainment! I'm off to arrange a trip, needless to say in someone else's car though. Hope you get your sprayers sorted out! Some of the cheapo places like Wilkinsons stock some car bits and bobs - this may be a bit too specialised but might be worth a peek.

On a separate note, where does everyone get their lovely "moving" icons from?

Regards.
