Long term (6 months) car rental

I have a new contract at work, should be for 6 months so I need a car for this period (wife and I currently share one car). With all contracts there is the possiblity of it ending early. Could anyone advise on my best option, I think long term hire is the way forward but finding quotes on the internet is proving difficult, and some seem to exclude insurance so I'm not sure how easy this would be to find on a flexible basis and whether I could share my ncb from my own car
