I'd done some work on one of the wheel rims of my car which had gone rusty but I'm looking for the original silver paint because the muppets at the dealer gave me the wrong shade of silver which is a lot lot shinier than my current colour. :naughty:

I went to halfords but they didn't stock it but could mix it for £10.99

The dealer can order the paint using the KG1 or KG1 B code (I'm not sure if the "B" is really relevant?) for around £8 which may be more reliable than it being mixed at Halfords?

Any other place I can get this specific colour paint from?

Have you tried a local body shop?

Some friends of mine have a bodyshop in Lancashire, and they have all the paint mixing equipment in their workshop for spraying cars when they've repaired them.

The only problem I foresee,is getting the paint into a spray form, but I would thought that it would be possible to get it in brush form from a bodyshop.

I have to say,for £8,it would seem to me that the dealer would be the best option, but bear in mind that they will order it from a paintshop, and not mix it,or have it in stock themselves, thereby taking their cut from the deal as well.

Hope this helps.

Ken.

Really? There I was being naive thinking they'd get an original dealer mix as they said

Cheers

What they do is either contact their own bodyshop,if they have one,or get it from an outsider, but as long as it matches and the price is right....who cares?

I phoned up Halfords 10 mins ago and told them the code KG1 B and he went away and said, yeah it's a light blue isn't it?

So, dealership, here I come :D :T
