Question (how to put this???)

Hi, a friend of mine has just purchased a Mercedes van (big box Luton type). It is still signed from the previous company. He wants to remove the letters but doesnt know how to do this. The van is white and the signage consists of individual green stickers which are stuck on tight! Any ideas on how to remove these stickers without leaving a mess behind? if there is any residue how is it to be removed?

try heating them gently with a hairdryer and they should peel off.

As previous poster said a hairdryer is the way to go along with soapy water and window scraper to remove the residue.

As it's a big van, assuming there's LOTS lettering & the above ideas are too labour intensive, find a local haulage company/van hire operator & ask if they'd use their highpressure HOT washer on it.

Then peel the signwriting off, while the lettering is still warm.

Wipe any residue with white spirit or petrol dampened cloth - fire hazard precautions obviously!!

& if you're not re writing the van, sufficintly enough to cover the outline left in the faded paintwork, buy some Mer polish (Halfords 3 for 2 currently) this'll bring back the shine, assuming it's not badly faded.
