If like me you hate those fiddley little buttons on mobile phones - this may be of interest to you...
http://fma.sourceforge.net/
It's an open source phone software suite that you can use to connect to your mobile phone - you can send sms messages (REALLY useful if you want to send sms messages to groups of people like in an e-mail client), sync with outlook/thunderbird, upload/download pictures, get extended information about your phone, remote dial, backup all your data... loads more... not going to list it all - practically anything you can think of, and there going to be a new version out soon...!
I've got a Sony ericsson t68i (old I know, but does everything I want it to do!) and i can sync using either bluetooth or infra-red (your computer must be capable of connecting to your phone by these methods or by a com port)
I've had this software installed or a while now - there doesn't appear to be any sort of catch, although I can't say it will work for any other brand of phone (the main page of the website does imply that you should be able to use the software with any type of phone).
If you do decide to give this a go - or if anyone manages to find a list of supported phones, please could they post?
Jason
Click thanks if it's been of use!
