.... or are there not the quality freebies about that there used to be?
I'm just browsing through the board and doing the usual net searches to see if there's anything to add to the board, I've noticed that companies have simply stopped giveaways.
Is this because too many have abused the system?
I found a small box a while back and it was full of freebies I had sent off for ages ago and they're all good quality freebies such as half size items, coupons for free items and some were full size and worth lots if you bought them in the shops.
Nowadays the best things going are small sachets. :( :(

if we all asked for just one or for one for each of the family if they qualifed for it then i dont think companys mind sending out quality freebies but then you get the people who ask for 25 etc and this makes the companys giving out the freebies stand up and take notice that its being abused and probably pull that freebie or the next promotion do it by giving away in supermarkets etc.. after all they want as many people as possible using there products and 25 to one person is defeating the object to them

i agree i think the quality of freebies is going downhill, but dont think anyone is to blame, companies are just not offering the stuff thats all ;D ;D

I was one of about 5 FreeStuff sites for UK residents that was started in 1999,
Mine was Stacey's UK FreeStuff
it used to be at http://www.ukfreestuff.freeserve.co.uk ??? ( I think ), then http://www.hues.co.uk ( now my wife's art site )
& then at http://www.ukstuff4free.co.uk
I started it because I am a scrooge & I was sick of filling in forms for FreeStuff only to read at the bottom of the page that it was only for US residents.
I used X-Stream for free internet access & freeserve for the free webspace, which made it a TRUE FreeStuff site :)
Way back then ;D HotMat actually sent the free mousemat they said they would :o,
I was able to tell people where to get things like a Free fleece ( anyone remember 9feet.com ), I still have mine after 5 years ::)
The fleece was retailing at about £80 :o
I gave up the site because the quality FreeStuff disappeared :'( :'(
As mentioned, the most you can get nowadays is a sample sachet of shampoo or a coupon :'(

Wow, someone else that has the free fleece. I'd forgotten about that. It must be one of the best freebies I've had. :)

hahaha ;D I think we are all to blame wether we order 1 or 21 we are all contributing to it, and because of sites like this and the amount of people on the net now thats why its like it is with the freebies !::)any way companies dont have to give samples and it dont matter how good or bad they are
! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Kind regards Sir Stanley :-*

The thing is - if we all ordered one as was mentioned then there wouldn't be such a demand.
It grates me when people say 'I've recieved my 4th one today!'. Well, those other 3 could either have gone to others who applied or keep the offer going for others who don't sit on their PC every day looking for the newest freebies.
I have had more than one e-mail saying that an offer has been withdrawn or stocks have run out due to overwhelming response.
A few have even said that they aren't going to run any future promotions due to people abusing it and they simply don't have the time or resources to make sure that multiple applications are weeded out.
It's a real shame it's gone this way - and yes, I remember the fleece too!
You can tell which ones are the freebie veterans!

Ah-ha! So mr bowles is the culprit for ordering 100 samples of Eros slik-stuff??!!
I'm just simply making an observation and suggesting that maybe greed is the problem. I only ever order one of everything, but then it's gone too far for a change to make the better.
Was it not for the grabbers we may well still get free fleeces.
BRING BACK FREE FLEECES!!!

ahhh theres memories the free fleeces! i still got my one from 9feet.com and a mizuno one from a golf site i think! also got an alpine rucksack and a couple of golf t-shirts off different sites! yep they were quality freebies.
I blame too many of these freebie sites has awakened people that you can get something for nothing.
