I've bleached my hair and now it feels (and looks :p ) like straw. Can anyone recommend any old style hair repair to help it get better, i've been conditioning it a few times a day to help it along but there must be something else out there :)

You can put ketchup on your bleach blonde hair if it goes green or brassy! :D

Boots do a value conditioner which is 34p. I swear this is the best conditioner I have ever used. My hair has never been in such a good condition. However, don't try the value shampoo as this made my scalp really dry and itchy.

Olive all massaged into the hair. Cover with cling film and wrap in a towel to heat up. Leave for about 20 minutes. Add shampoo directly onto the hair no water. then rince with water and wash as normal.

Hehe just looked up Mayo - might give it a try

not exactly old fashioned but I too have/had straw like hair until I found frizeez hair serum after you have done the usual shampoo and condition wring you hair (do not towel dry) and add the serum to the bits you know to be like straw and leave to dry naturally works wonders and I am now thankfully frizz free it took me a good few years of trying all sorts until I hit onthis, its pricey at £6 quid ish for a tiny bottle but worth it!

It only makes it feel nice because it leaves a film of product on your hair, such as prodiucts like pantene or such. All they do is leave a film on your hair shaft that makes it feel smoother.

NB: if you do use a product like pantene, I recomend that you do a clarifying shampoo once a month followed by an intence conditioner.

Great HM treatments cen be beer, egg or fabric softener (I swear by this) also for extra shine and to prevent your hair going greasy, after rincing conditioner out, give your hair a sharp blast of cold water, it shocks all the pores in your scalp to close and prevents it releasing excess sebrum.

I normally use frizeez hair serum but i think ive damaged my hair a bit too much for it (to be honest this is a last ditched effot to save it before I have short summer hair ;) )

Im off to get some olive oil now.......

I find Superdrug coconut oil (comes in tubs and you melt by standing tub in hot water) really good. They also do a coconut oil conditioner for 99p, which is excellent for general use.

Any conditioner applied to HOT hair (ie wet with the hottest water you can stand) then wrap in cling flim for 30 mins then a cool rinse. Repeat every other day for a week then weekly to maintain condition. My hairdresser swears by it & I must admit it does seem to make a difference.

HTH;)

Asdas own brand serum at £1.36 does the job just as well as the Frizz Ease serum, at a fraction of the price.

It's happened to me before as well. There is no quick fix for badly damaged hair, unfortunately. You hve to nurture your hair for a while.

I did a deep condition twice a week: Mix a teaspoon of honey with two tablespoons of olive oil (not virgin) and one egg yolk, warm gently au bain marie while mixing (but be careful not to cook the egg!). Section your hair and apply with one of those flat brushes that hairdressers use for applying hair dye. Wrap hair in cling film and, if you can bear it in this heatwave, set your hairdryer to low and waft over your hair. Rinse and wash as normal.

Then in between deep treatments, I would use conditioner-only on alternate hair washes. On days I washed with shampoo, I would use a leave-in conditioner on the ends.

I second the mayonaise. Every time I search for moisturising hair masks online it keeps coming up loads. Good luch, i hope you have healthy, shiny, bouncy hair soon.

Coconut oil is the best conditioner I have ever used for my long frizzy hair. I'm 43 and it honestly makes my long frizzes like a 20 something's. I use a little only on the dry part of my hair. You must use it when hair is still soaking wet. Coconut oil is much better than Frizzease even.

Absolutely - I've got the sort of hair you beat into submission rather than style. I do this all the time with my mistreated hair and it is great. My hairdresser also recommends this for dandruff if you rub it well into your scalp. But you MUST follow the instructions in bold! I favour a plastic shower cap rather than cling film but it comes out the same in the end. You can stick it on dry hair and leave it on all day whilst you're doing your household chores.

I also always use an intensive conditioner rather than just a normal one (I get what is on offer - I've tried all sorts of salon brands and they don't seem to be any better) and have recently been picking up one designed for afro-carribbean hair types. I just put them on in the shower for a few minutes and they seem to work fine.

All of that together with my lifesaver - John Frieda Serum for coarse hair (no other serum does it for me but stock up on 3for2 and extra points offers at Boots) - seems to work. Add that to my GHDs (sometimes moneysaving is about strategic investment), and no-one ever believes that I naturally have a nightmare blob of brunette cotton wool on top of my head!

I also find John Frieda's Frizz Eaze wonderful and it doesn't upset my very dry scalp. Look for three for the price of two offers. It does seem expensive, but you only need to use a tiny amount and it lasts for ages.

13 Health benefits of Virgin coconut oil

What is Virgin coconut oil ?
Virgin coconut oil is derived from fresh coconuts (rather than dried, as in copra). Most oils marketed as "virgin" are produced one of three ways:
1. Quick drying of fresh coconut meat which is then used to press out the oil.
2. Wet-milling (coconut milk). With this method the oil is extracted from fresh coconut meat without drying first. "Coconut milk" is expressed first by pressing. The oil is then further separated from the water. Methods which can be used to separate the oil from the water include boiling, fermentation, refrigeration, enzymes and mechanical centrifuge.
3. Wet-milling (direct micro expelling). In this process, the oil is extracted from fresh coconut meat after the adjustment of the water content, then the pressing of the coconut flesh results in the direct extraction of free-flowing oil.
Benefits of Virgin coconut oil
1 The oil promotes weight loss as well as weight maintenance
