I HATE marmite.....wierdly, my boyfriend tried it and he said he "wasn't sure"??????????!!!!!!! Surely being on the fence about marmite is previously unheard of?
no i don't think its unheard of... i'm the op and i don't mind it.
just a thin scraping is lovely, too much is awful.

Thanks for the post on the mats. Signed up today.
I love the stuff. I even persuaded the oil company I was working for in Oman to ship some out to us! They will do anything to keep the crews happy.
For a quick snack, put Marmit on toast, under some poached eggs. Quick, cheap, nourishing and good for you.

My daughter swears that her marmite-eating mates weren't eaten by gnats on their camping holiday!
Love those squeezy upside-down jars but watch out! they work out more expensive!

Got my mats today - I think I was expecting place mats (!!!) but they were coaster size and made of absorbent card, just like beer mats

Well I suppose you could and they would not kill you if you felt desperately hungry when you received them - maybe they are impregnated with Marmite flavour once you open the packet and could be quite appetising???.
The box they come in has a little magnetic strip on the back so you can stick them to the fridge and admire them for a while before you start chomping .......
