I'm on the lookout for my first car at the moment. It needs to be relatively cheap (£3000 max, really) and automatic. I've seen quite a few Nissan Micra automatics (with continuous variable transmission) and wondered whether any other members have experience of them. Unfortunately, reviews tend to only comment on the manual versions of cars, so advice about autos is hard to come by. Any feedback, positive or negative, would be appreciated. Thanks!

look on www.parkers.co.uk as they have a section for owners reviews of cars which covers pretty much every model of every car.

Many thanks, balsingh. The reviews there sound pretty good, although there are relatively few for the automatic models.

I had a nissan micra auto (1995) and it was fine, except they are prone to throttle body problems, so, if your car ends up cutting out somewhere along the line, it's a throttle body that needs changing (usually) and it isn't that expensive.

I'd really recommend it, I loved it, very nice drive.
