I am having to sell my cherished classic beetle. I've tried advertising on club websites and free sites like classic cars for sale, practical classics etc. I've had numerous replies from classic cars for sale but they have all been of the overseas buyer scam type.
Where is the best/safest place to advertise? Is Autotrader worth paying for, especially for a classic vehicle. Will I get even more scammers?

when you say club sites, you mean Beetle clubs?
what price do you seek for the Beetle?
Have you thought of this:

eBay is where I bought my Jag. It's now become the major Classic Car market in the country. Decent Beetles will often do well, especially at this time of year.
The problem with club websites is that everybody already has one!
Ebay is a big market.
I recently sold my classic on ebay with no problem it fetched a better price than I expected. Wait until they have their free advertising motor day, keep the starting price low, the minimum price you would accept.
It's also worth putting something in the ad like bidders with 5 positive feedback or more and 98% rating feedback or more and cash on collection.
Good luck with the sale!

Depending on it's condition, you might be lucky in auction.

Worth taking it along to one of the many VW shows? There's one every weekend next month.

Hi,
I sold my Spitfire on Ebay. Do a Decent add. Plenty of Photos and a list of all your work. I did a small video and that seemed to work every well.
For £6 its worth it (plus more fees if you sell)
Good Luck
